Apoplexy is uncontrolled bleeding into an organ that the term is used in general (with no organ specified). This is also referred to as cerebrovascular accident (CVA), which is often associated with loss of consciousness and paralysis of various parts of the body. The word "apoplexy" is derived from the Greek "apoplexia" meaning “a seizure”, in the sense of being struck down and in Greek "plexe" means "a stroke." This term is used to describe bleeding of the internal organs.
